Trusting the Polls

As journalists, I think we have all learned that you should not trust the political polls. The last few elections have shown us that the polls appear to be wrong, more than they are right. Personally, I trust the bets placed in the polymarket, more than I will trust a political poll. The NY Times came out with their last poll before today’s election, and needless to say, Donald Trump was not happy. At his Iowa rally, Trump once again called for The New York Times to face criminal charges, this time over the fabricated poll numbers.“They were made up, fake. It’s a terrible thing. And frankly, I think the Times should be prosecuted for that because they knew that,” Trump said.Of course, this is yet another lie from Trump. Obviously, the NY Times did not fake a poll. The fact that Trump wants them prosecuted for putting out a poll is where we are as a country right now. Will the Times poll be right? I have no clue, but I can assure you, their poll was not made up. No matter what Trump says. The real poll happens today, and if the polls are right and it is a big win for the Democrats, you can bet your house that Donald Trump will claim the election was rigged and then we will be back on that train again. It really is exhausting.
