Tesla announces Robotaxi launch in four more cities, releases safety data via new website (no kittens were hurt)
Tesla (TSLA) has launched a new Robotaxi Safety website that shares critical safety data on its Roboaxi vehicles (Model Y Robotaxis and Cybercabs). The tech & AI-based electric automaker has a live counter on this new website that shows real-time ‘Miles Driven Autonomously’. As of this writing, the total miles driven by Cybercabs and Model Y robotaxis have crossed 3.4 million miles across 6 US cities. Through this new page, Tesla has also announced that Robotaxi Service will be available in the following four cities soon: Las Vegas, Nevada Jacksonville, Florida Phoenix, Arizona San Antonio, Texas Tesla Robotaxi Service via its iPhone and Android apps is currently available in the following six US cities: Austin, TX Dallas, TX Houston, TX Miami, FL Orlando, FL Tampa, FL Map of Tesla Robotaxi Service: available cities are marked with orange, and coming soon cities are marked with grey dots (as of October 23, 2026). – Advertisement – Aerial view of the Tesla Cybercab robotaxi lot in Austin, Texas, with many vehicles in sight. Dallas, Texas, is Tesla’s next target for launching Cybercab autonomous ride-hailing. Famous Tesla YouTuber and FSD beta tester Chuck Cook has tested Full Self-Driving in Jacksonville, Florida, extensively over the years. His famous unprotected left turn (UPL) pushed Tesla to send Tesla employees to the location and train FSD neural nets for these specific scenarios. Tesla obtained approval to operate Robotaxi Service in Las Vegas, Nevada, in August. Potential users and Tesla fans are expecting the automaker to add the Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC) Boring Company tunnel loop to Tesla’s Robotaxi geofence. Tesla Robotaxi / Cybercab Safety Data Tesla shared interesting data points in its Robotaxi safety data. The automaker highlights how Model Y Robotaxis and Cybercabs performed across traffic scenarios, road conditions, and day/night conditions in 3.1 million miles of autonomous driving across 6 cities through October 18, 2026. The report says 0 safety incidents of: People Injured by Robotaxi Robotaxi Airbag Deployments Pedestrians or Cyclists Hit Robotaxis and Cybercabs drove a total of: 862K miles after dark (no kittens were hurt) 113K Miles in Rain 575K Miles in Rush Hour Tesla’s AI lead Ashok Elluswamy shared the following compilation of safety-related incidents that Tesla Robotaxis prevented. The odds of an average human driver getting into these incidents are higher than Tesla’s Full Self-Driving system. Tesla Model Y Robotaxis and Cybercabs are running early versions of FSD v15 (Unsupervised). The following video shows how good this version of Unsupervised FSD is at anticipating safety-related scenarios and taking the right decisions beforehand to prevent a collision/accident.
