Former LIV Golf player enters top 50 rankings for the first time
The Official World Golf Ranking has been updated for the week of October 13, 2026, and, of course, Scottie Scheffler still holds the title of the planet's best player. But a former LIV Golf player has climbed into the top 50, marking his highest-ever ranking. Eugenio Chacarra, who signed with LIV on a three-year deal fresh out of Oklahoma State University, left the league in 2025 and earned full DP World Tour status when he captured the Hero Indian Open on a sponsor's invite.Chacarra moved up five spots to No. 50 after finishing T-2 at the Spanish Open last weekend. Even more impressively, he finished with a broken toe. The OWGR system is calculated by awarding points from eligible tours and events to participating players over a rolling two-year period. Players are ranked weekly based on the amount of points they earn divided by the number of events they played in to reach an average total. Points hold their full value for a 13-week period and are then reduced in equal decrements. The current ranking for the Top 50 golfers in the world appears below.
