Moose – CT

Meet adoptable deaf 3 year old Moose who is looking for a loving forever home with someone who will cherish him, become his new best friend and always keep him safe. He would do well with a family with older kids (12+). From his current caregiver: We adopted Moose from our local animal control. We haven’t had experience with deaf dogs. I was really up for the challenge. Unfortunately, I am changing jobs and won’t be home as much as Moose needs me to be. He needs more time and attention than I can give to him. He just wants to be with his people or dog friends. He would thrive with someone who is retired or works from home. Moose is an approximately 6-years old, per animal control, however our vet says he’s most likely two to three yrs old. He is a very sweet and handsome 70 pound American Bully mix who is looking for a new best friend. He understands some hand signals and he is a fast learner. He lays down in his own little Moose style. He walks gracefully and he is great on a lease. Moose is house trained, he doesn’t get on furniture, and he is not a fan of a closed crate. Moose is sweet, affectionate, and absolutely loves his people. Moose doesn’t ask for much—just a person of his own and a comfortable place to relax to be near his people. Moose has done well with other dogs but we are unsure about how he would do with cats. He tends to act like an annoying younger brother around our other dogs. He has a moderate amount of energy. Moose will do well in a home with older children, as he is a “Moose” aka bulldozer when he gets excited. His adoption fee is $200 to a screened and approved family or person. You must also come to meet him in person in order to be considered for his adoption and you must live within a two hour drive of New Britain, CT.
