Florida leaps into US LBM Coaches Poll top 25 for first time since 2021

Florida football continued its early surge under new head coach Jon Sumrall on Saturday with a resounding 52-28 win over Ole Miss in the Swamp, marking the first time the Gators have started the season with four straight victories since 2019. The monumental Week 4 win has the Gators moving up 14 spots in the latest US LBM Coaches Poll to No. 8 for their first top-10 appearance since Sept. 26, 2021. The Orange and Blue now sits between No. 7 Alabama and No. 9 BYU.In this week's rankings, the SEC has nine teams among the top 25, headlined by top-ranked Texas and second-ranked Georgia, followed by Alabama (No. 7), Florida (No. 8), LSU (No. 11), Ole Miss (No. 12), Mississippi State (No. 16), Tennessee (No. 17) and Missouri (No. 25), while Texas and Oklahoma both tumbled out. Kentucky moved up into the de facto No. 27 spot with 123 votes, while Auburn (22), TAMU (14) and Oklahoma (6) also appeared on the ballot.Next up, Florida travels to Columbia to take on Missouri at Faurot Field on Saturday, Oct. 3. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. ET and the game will be broadcast on ABC.
