Ernest Rodriguez Sr. passed away peacefully, surrounded by family to be with our Heavenly Father on Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2026, at the age of 92. Rosary: 6:00 – 8:00 pm on Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2026, at Mount Olivet Chapel. Funeral: 12:00 pm on Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2026, at All Saints Catholic Church, 214 NW 20th St., Fort Worth, 76164. Interment: Greenwood Memorial Park, 3100 White Settlement Rd., Fort Worth, 76107. Born March 26, 1934, in Fort Worth, to Juanita Trujillo and Rodolfo Rodriguez, Ernest was the last remaining founder of Rodriguez Family Foods. From his humble beginnings of being born in a shotgun house on the north side of Fort Worth, Ernest worked alongside his father, brother Rudy, and other family members to build a substantial and respected Mexican food company that became an important part of Fort Worth’s history and the Rodriguez family legacy. Ernest was a friend to everyone he met. He had a rare ability to make people feel important and valued, regardless of their position or station in life. He took the time to truly get to know people, and his warmth, generosity, and genuine interest in others touched countless lives. His greatest passion, however, was his ranch and his love of hunting. The ranch was a special place for Ernest, a place where he could enjoy the outdoors, spend time with family and friends, and pursue one of the things he loved most in life. Those who shared time with him there will forever cherish these memories. Ernest was preceded in death by his parents, Juanita Trujillo and Rodolfo Rodriguez; Infant Daughter Alicia Rodriguez; sons, Ernest Rodriguez Jr. and Infant Son Richard Rodriguez; sister, Alice Rodriguez and brother, Rudy Rodriguez. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 48 years, Socorro Rodriguez; son Phillip Rodriguez and his wife, Melba; daughters Diana Kaley, Anna Galmiche and her husband, Sergio, and Melissa Lawler and her husband, Jace. He adored his grandchildren Eddie Stivers and his wife, Melissa, Jared Kaley, Natalie Baires and her husband, Oscar, Veronica Owens and her husband, Jeff, Nicholas Rodriguez and his wife, Elsa, Lukas Rodriguez, Ernest Rodriguez III, Sophia Galmiche, Lilliana Galmiche, Gabriel Herrington, Elisandra Lawler and great-grandchildren Samuel, Jackson, Audrey, Cecilia, Juliana, Wade, Jonathan and Xyla. Ernest leaves behind a remarkable family, a lasting business legacy, countless friendships, and generations of memories. His kindness, his love of family, his passion for the ranch, and the way he welcomed everyone he met will live on in those who knew and loved him. He will be greatly missed and forever remembered.
