IK Multimedia Launches TONEX Board, Its Most Advanced Modeling Platform Yet

IK Multimedia has released TONEX Board, their most advanced hardware platform in the TONEX ecosystem and a full pedalboard-format rig built around its AI Machine Modeling technology. The board combines dual signal paths, AmpliTube-derived effects, extensive routing options, and a touchscreen interface, positioning it as a complete guitar and bass rig in a compact, low-latency package. At the core of TONEX Board is the ability to run up to four Tone Models simultaneously across two independent signal paths, giving players room to build everything from simple single-amp setups to complex dual-amp, parallel, and wet/dry rigs. Alongside those Tone Models, the board includes 76 total effects – 51 pulled from AmpliTube 5, 15 from TONEX, and 10 newly developed processors – spread across nine categories and arranged using up to 12 freely routable slots. Control comes via a 5″ high-resolution color touchscreen paired with six precision push-rotary knobs, designed to keep rig-building and editing fast without digging through menus. Onstage, Preset, Scene, and Stomp modes give players different levels of control, from recalling entire rigs at once to adjusting individual effects directly via footswitch. as for connectivity – The board supports splitting and merging signal paths, a movable stereo effects loop that can also be divided into two independent mono paths, two stereo output pairs (one balanced XLR), individual output EQ, MIDI, expression control, and four-cable method support. A 4-in/2-out USB audio interface mode with configurable routing and direct monitoring is planned as a free firmware update on October 1, 2026. TONEX Board ships with 2,000 Premium Tone Models, pulling from the original TONEX MAX library, selections from the TONEX ONE+ Signature Collection, and new content made specifically for this hardware. Close to 200 of the included captures come from IK’s Tone Partner network, a group of nearly 20 contributors including Massimo Varini, Jason Sadites, and Tone Junkie TV, among others.
