Both the hitch and the wiring harness can be bought on line for DIY install. The wiring harness simply plugs into a existing jack in the spare tire area. Somehow, when a trailer lights are plugged into the harness the car detects it and turns off the rear sensors. It is a nice system and at a OK price.
