Daikin expands available EPDs
UK: Daikin has expanded its range of Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) to include commercial air conditioning, chillers and commercial heat pump ranges. This follows the recent release of EPDs for the company’s residential heat pump and air conditioning range. With increasing focus on whole life carbon measurement, particularly in the area of embodied carbon in the built environment, Daikin now has 30 accessible EPDs to provide reliable data to support accurate building design and assessment. Embodied carbon is a critical but often overlooked contributor to the built environment’s carbon footprint. EPDs provide a robust way of detailing the information clearly, offering detailed, accurate and third-party verified carbon data. An EPD also details each stage of a product’s lifecycle from production, construction, end of life and the potential for reuse, recovery or recycling. This supports design teams in meeting legislative requirements and achieving certification under schemes such as BREEAM, NABERS, and the UK Net Zero Carbon Building Standard (UKNZCBS).Design teams can access Daikin’s full range of EPDs on its website, with each declaration providing third-party verified data ready to be used in whole-life carbon assessments, BREEAM submissions and BIM workflows.
