1. e4 e5 Spanish - The Modern Steinitz -- what's wrong with it?

Nf1 and Qe2 both seem more germane. I know. The point was that this position must be good for white if even 10.h3 still offers white good changes for an advantage. even 8...Nb8!?! is playable after 1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.Bb5 a6 4.Ba4 d6 5.O-O b5 6.Bb3 Be7 7.c3 Bb7 8.d4; in fact I'll be trying it out on ICCF as of this very moment ....
