What is the value of of asking "why"?
Is it of intrinsic value to ask why questions, even if we don't have any answer and it doesn't provide some other release, such as gratification that we are so clever? I definitely think we can have questions without answers, insofar as not all existing questions have good answers; we are under no obligation to accept the best answer we have. I was just thinking of generic why questions in everyday (social) life, why did my wife leave me, why doesn't god seem to love me, why do I hate my job, but in my imagination I probably base better questions on the same format.
