Should the deadwood of this pine tree be trimmed?

If so, by how much? This is a tree on an island in the Canadian plant hardiness zone 5b. It could be a white pine given that the island is in Georgian Bay, Ontario. The tree has a crop of pine cones, including on branches in the dead zone. If pruning is recommended tips on how to approach this are welcome. Edit: Added full picture.
