Charges: Twin Cities couple sexually abused teen runaway hidden in cardboard box

A married couple is facing felony charges after police discovered a 14-year-old runaway who they allegedly sexually abused hidden inside a cardboard box in their Oakdale apartment.Angeline Olson, 46, faces criminal sexual conduct and solicitation charges, while her husband, Andrew Olson, 48, has been charged with solicitation and possessing child pornography, with both being held at the Washington County Jail as of Thursday morning.The Maplewood Police Department was first alerted in late May when the assistant principal at John Glenn Middle School reported that a female student had left school without permission.The girl’s father reportedly told authorities that she may have gone to the apartment of a friend’s parents, Angeline and Andrew Olson, whom she had visited multiple times. Angeline Olson | Andrew OlsonWashington County Jail When officers visited the couple's apartment, Angeline Olson told them that she hadn’t seen the girl in a day, and that she would drive her home if she showed up.Early the following morning, police returned to the apartment after a caller reported seeing a young girl wearing a swimsuit cooking outside with two adults, according to a criminal complaint.The Olsons denied that the victim was at their residence, and eventually had to be detained by police as they searched the property.Officers eventually found the girl hiding in a cardboard box in the couple’s bedroom under a pile of clothes, the complaint says.The victim’s parents found Snapchat conversations between her and Angeline Olson the indicated the girl was being sexually exploited, with law enforcement also concerned that the victim was using illicit drugs.Investigators later discovered child pornography on Angeline Olson's phone of the couple with the victim, per the complaint.
