F1RST Wrestling books Mall of America show the day before SummerSlam

On what is shaping up to be a massive week of pro wrestling activity in the Twin Cities when WWE arrives in town for SummerSlam, F1RST Wrestling has announced its own plans.The Twin Cities-based indie wrestling promotion run by "The Anarchist" Arik Cannon has confirmed its "Friday Night Nitro" show at the Mall of America Rotunda will go ahead from 7 p.m. on Friday, July 31, the evening before SummerSlam starts at U.S. Bank Stadium.With a bevy of indie wrestling stars expected to make their way to Minnesota for SummerSlam week, F1RST Wrestling is promising a mixture of "international stars and fan-favorite F1RST Wrestling performers."Tickets for Friday Night Nitro go on sale at 10 a.m. CT on Monday, June 15, and are expected to sell quickly. A F1rst Wrestling event at the Mall of AmericaF1rst Wrestling After building its brand through its spectacular "Wrestlepalooza" shows at First Avenue, F1RST Wrestling has been expanding its reach in recent years, adding shows throughout the Twin Cities metro and into Wisconsin and Iowa.And some of its showpiece events are now at the Mall of America, where it held its first "Nitro" show in 2022, and has held at least one in every year since.F1RST won't be the only indie wrestling promotion putting on a show during SummerSlam week, with Game Changer Wrestling (GCW) confirming on Tuesday that it will be holding its first ever Minneapolis show on Saturday, Aug. 1.More details of that event are expected to be released in the coming weeks.WWE SummerSlam will be held across Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 1 and 2, at U.S. Bank Stadium.
