Display fox connector on SP5 screen

Display fox connector on SP5 screen
Hi all A two part question here I have a brand-new intact screen to go onto a surface pro. I have half a dozen machines in various states of repair at the moment and I could not get this new screen to work on any machine for Love or money. I then discovered that on the FPC connector at the top of the screen that the ribbon cable plugs into one of the pins looks damaged hence why there’s probably no display can this connector be heated? Remove removed/desoldered and a replacement connector re-sold it onto the board(may be picking up the connector from AliExpress) I can’t find any online videos about it I am also looking to do the same on another machine where a repair company have butchered the60pin FPC connector for the display on the motherboard so I am looking to replace this and have ordered the new replacement connector from AliExpress. This I could find videos on. Thanks submitted by /u/Grantsmith1982 [link] [comments]
