Lusby Man Arrested for Stealing Golf Equipment From Swan Point Pro Shop in Charles County
Garfield Linden Northey, 50, of Lusby, has been charged in Charles County District Court with second-degree burglary, theft of $1,500 to under $25,000, and malicious destruction of property valued at $1,000 or more, according to court documents. The charges stem from an alleged May 3, 2026, break-in at a Charles County yacht and country club, where court documents say golf equipment was stolen and an exterior door was damaged. The charging documents list the stolen items as golf clubs and golf balls valued at approximately $5,313.89, with damage to the door estimated at about $3,000. According to a statement of probable cause filed by the Charles County Sheriff’s Office, an officer responded on May 4, 2026, after the burglary was reported. A pro shop manager told investigators, “While opening the shop in the morning, he noticed the front door was damaged and that items were stolen.” Court documents say surveillance video showed a red truck arriving at the golf club earlier on May 3, 2026, and later moving under a carport with its headlights off.
