An OD+JB Collaboration | The 11oz. "Dog Days Sansei" Selvedge Jeans The lightest, neppiest denim we have ever brought to fruition is back thanks to our friends at Japan Blue, and in a more elevated form than ever. Rewinding back to 2019, the original fabric swatch we used for the "Dog Days' Denim was sitting quietly in a corner at the Collect fabric office. Catching our eye immediately, this fabric paved the way for the introduction of our first summer-weight denim that was both wearable and bursting at the seams with texture. Regrettably, the factory that produced the original fabric closed down during the COVID pandemic, requiring us to go back to the drawing board in order to bring back one of our favorite denims of all time. We saw this as an opportunity to evolve the concept entirely. Enter the "Dog Days Sansei" Selvedge Jeans. Meaning "third generation" in Japanese, the term 三世 (Sansei) felt particularly fitting for what is now the third incarnation of the Dog Days project. More than just a sequel, this latest iteration represents the culmination of years of refinement, experimentation, and an uncompromising pursuit to recapture the spirit of the original while pushing the fabric further than before. Developed exclusively alongside Japan Blue, the new 11oz. Selvedge retains the hallmark airy feel and explosive nep texture that defined the earlier versions, but now arrives with a more sophisticated hand feel and improved structure. The fabric balances breathability with character in a way few lightweight denims can achieve, making it suited for warmer climates without sacrificing the visual depth and irregularity that Denimheads know and love.For the first time since their inception, the jeans will drop in both a Regular Straight and Tapered silhouette. Proprietary OD+ hardware completes this piece - including four 22mm "OD" embossed metal buttons, the "Rising Sun" red and blue rayon tab, and a single "+" rivet featured on the fifth coin pocket.
