Virtual simulation in postgraduate specialty nursing education: A pilot cross-sectional survey evaluation

Specialist perianaesthesia nursing requires advanced decision-making, clinical judgement, and readiness to manage care for complex and time-critical patients (Ead, 2014). However, opportunities for experiential learning in clinical environments are limited by patient safety and variability in clinical exposure (Hedlund et al., 2024). To address these barriers, virtual simulation (VS) has emerged as a flexible learning modality that enables repetitive, self-paced engagement with clinically realistic scenarios (Verkuyl et al., 2024).
