Is this how some people do gotchas at leftist creators.?

I know leftist creators can make a few mistakes here and there, take sponsorships from questionable brands, being performative, lack of proper research, and all. But seriously? Tbh I didn't watch the video, since I expected it to be a hard watch for me, and I just looked through the comments and man it was kind of jarring to look at the general anti-intellectualism (see how they mock the usage of the terms "late-stage capitalism", "fascism", etc.) and the constant ad hominem usage, as if we're expected to fully live by socialist values without facing consequences from the greater capitalist system. And don't get me started on the "performative politeness" they commented about. "Passive-aggressive tone" or just being assertive? This is my first post in this subreddit, and I'm still trying to learn more about socialism, mostly by watching, more or less, the same leftist creators this video is mocking. Do you think I should have just watched the video before I read the comments to make my judgement or did I spare myself from going through this "satire" video? Otherwise, just clear out whatever arguments they had whenever you can. To be honest, I'm still trying to overcome the liberal, capitalist conditioning I had been through after all this time and I don't want to get the wrong ideas regarding socialism, especially from "gotcha" arguments like this video I found. submitted by /u/sCphazRock7-4-50 [link] [comments]
