Recommended to get a Surface Go 3? (8gb/Pentium 6500Y model)

Helping out a friend that’s been selling their stuff, and they ended up offering me their surface go 3 for $50, with the only issue being a tiny crack in the corner. Searching around Amazon and contacting some friends and I could fix up the screen down the line for another $40-55, and I was thinking if the model experience is worth the upgrade (especially since I’m still using the Surface Pro 4 in my profile…), I’m honestly just hoping for a lighter capable tablet that supports Linux and this thing does look like a promising upgrade.
